...And still I manage to hammer out long-ass entries.
i. Hung out with cynicaliism on Wednesday!
- So we met up at our usual time which is dun-dun-dun~ Noon! ...I don't know why I put scary soundtrack music there, but roll with me people. - I had the crappiest night's sleep. lol. Then went to mom's hospital in hopes of napping so I could get some more in... I slept on a chair. I woke up repeatedly. ~_~;; Ended up leaving early because, shit, I was already awake, and ended up walking from 14th street to 42nd. Again. XPPPP Then was still early by like an hour, so headed over to the library and ended up taking out a book that I finished later that night. XPPPP I love David Baldacci. Crime novels for the win. XP - ANYWAY, met up. And first thing we did was jump on the train so we could get food. I was starving for someone who'd woken up at 4 am and hadn't eaten at all up to this point. a;slkdjfaklsjflkasjdkfj We went over to Ooki Sushi, which was just fucking awesome and we sat at a table next to the glass wall... Except there wasn't any glass. So we were treated to the nice breeze. :DDD It was a rather nice day. - I managed to finish my meal for the second of four times. I need ONE MORE MEAL to prove myself. :DDDD ...Erm, yeah. - We had made plans to go bowling, but honestly bowling with just two people is not really the most interesting. Thankfully, it was such a nice day that Cyn was okay with just walking around. We went over to Pinkberry, grabbed a large frozen yogurt with toppings of strawberry and mango, then walked over several avenues to Central Park. Then sat around and ate and chatted and talked about JE!Vampires. lolol Seriously, I went with the Vampire Knight canon and was like, damn it, only Johnny can turn them into vampires, and only debuted groups are actually vampires right now and blahblahbalh. We died laughing during that conversation. - Then since we were right next to the Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art), we headed inside. Man, that was a shitload of walking. Seriously, we were exhausted. By the end of it, we were most definitely dragging our feet. But it was amusing, nonetheless. There was a Superhero Costume exhibit up and we were loling. I was really glad that the costume for Catwoman was not the Halle Berry version, but the Michelle Pfeiffer version. That one was amazing. Also, in one of the rooms, there was a girl painting one of the paintings. It was absolutely fascinating. Apparently for everyone else too because lol, so many people stopped and stared. It was kinda funny. We didn't even get to see her paint by that much. ~_~;; - Also, Kame count for that day... I think was 2. There was one - a tortoise shaped... something box - in the museum. - Then we headed off to Starbucks to wake ourselves up because. ;alskdjflkasjd Ahahaa, we were kinda beat from all the walking, not that you can blame us. We talked some more, mocked these little girls (quietly) that were sitting near us, and then got the idea to go to Best Buy and Barnes and Nobles nearby. AKA next door. lol - We went off to Best Buy first where we talked about all the different games, where I lamented again that I don't have a DS because wantwantwant. lol Then I acted like a good big sister and bought my brother the LAN Adapter for the Wii so he could have Wifi. He owes me like 30 bucks. ...Or at least my mother does. XPPPP Kidding. ...Not. - That led to a journey to Barnes and Nobles where we camped out in three different sections - the college prep books where we laughed and mocked everything that was written, where I verified for the thousandth time that my school is made of shit because in like 5 books, it only showed up in one (while Cyn's showed up in all, she rocks). Then we were in the language section where we looked at all the Japanese help books. AND HERE'S WHERE THE DIRTY TALK COMES IN. - We first read Dirty Japanese, a popular one, and then after reading several other guide books, we came across Japanese Street Slang by Peter Constantine.
Highlight to read. PIN. Erection.
Pin is a sound word much like the English "boing," and is often used in conjunction with those terms to suggest the liveliness of the event and the immediacy of horniness.
Pin to okiku natta! He suddenly got a rod on! Pin to kataku natta! He got rock hard!
...I just realized, I don't know how "invisible" this is when it's in my automatic layout which doesn't have a white background. >.> *stupid* But otherwise, HILARIOUS. :DDDD - Anyway, after that. We were awake like mad. Laughing hysterically in the aisles as we read it. ;askdjflaksdj HYSTERICAL. I'm telling you. Then, we crashed over near the fiction writing or just writing books. Laughed a lot. As always. - I ended up buying a book. ~_~;; ;alskdjfalsjdflkajs lol I'm so lame. - We finished... relatively early, so we were like, what next? And decided to get dinner! :D And I decided to bring her to California Pizza Kitchen!!! Obviously, I couldn't help myself. XP We shared an awesome appetizer - some type of dumpling, an ORIGINAL BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA, and... I got a Pina Colada. With Rum on the side. Like literally in another glass because I'd asked for less rum, but the bartender's apparently heavy-handed. I seriously LOLed. Ended up drinking all the rum, half with the Pina Colada and half by itself. ;alksdjfklasd Choking down some of that rum was like painful because a;lsdkfja that last gulp? So GGGUHH. Otherwise, it was a good meal. :DDDD I got carded. - After that, we headed back to the bus station. On our way, there was some girl having a photoshoot or something on top of a limo in the middle of Times Square.... Or a block away really. I could hear the people all up in a frenzy. My theory was that she was flashing people because what she was wearing was some pathetically small negligee or something. - All in all, we did a lot and got tired and had lots of fun. :D It was awesome. As always.
ii. Had to bring my brother to the doctor yesterday. When did I become his default mother? Seriously. I LOLed during his physical when he insisted I don't look because obviously, he's nude. Well, up to his underwear, anyway. I pointedly stared at my book. Like hell I would look anyway.
iii. Can we talk about the wtf-ery that is NewS' new single? Really, JE? Happy Birthday? Wtf is that crap? I was so fucking sure. as;dlfkjaslkdfjlk If the PV has them in stupid birthday hats and a birthday cake... I will be so, so pissed. >.> Hell, I'm still peeved over their single anyway.
iv. Video Rec! LOL. I feel like I'm making it a habit to rec at least one thing per post. Whether it be videos or fic. This kinda speaks volumes of my life, doesn't it? Or what little of one I have. (I say after those points above. ~_~;;) Anyway, what I'm reccing is a subbed clip from Tensai Shimura Doubutsen where Aiba lives with pandas for a few days. The Panda Special. Guys. This clip was hella amazing and at first really melancholic when they tell Aiba what happened to that first panda, and the look on Aiba's face. T.T Then we got to the meat of the episode and a;sldfkjalskdfjlaksjdflkj the cutest things, these baby pandas. And I was so cheering Men on. ;alskdjflaksjdflkj Actually, on that note.
Men - he still wasn't used to having a name - knew he wasn't like most pandas - weak, no balance, no stamina, had no interest in most things. So when this human - that's what he'd hear they were called, from the other pandas nonetheless - started hanging around him, urging him to do things that he wasn't used to doing. Men thought he was just being silly and that guy should do something more worth his time.
He wasn't Kung Fu Panda worthy material, after all.
--
Cha and Shu were more panda-like than he was; Men thought it would've been funny if Aiba - that was the human's name - had actually gone through with the idea of calling them Ja and Ja. Seeing them in the house with him was distressing. They kept away for a reason - or rather, he kept away from them for a reason. And now he had to live with them and watch as they fell all over themselves to get the attention of Aiba - and each other, really. Cha was very, very good at getting what he wanted.
Still, even though Aiba had more than his share of pandas, he still hung around Men. Throwing toys in his direction. Urging him on to do things he couldn't ever do. Putting him in all that bamboo.
Men didn't know what he wanted.
Whatever it was, Men couldn't do it.
--
When Men sees Cha and Shu climb the "cliff," something inside Men bubbles up. He doesn't know really what that is - why he's feeling this way and why it makes him feel a little worse than before.
Aiba looks back at him with smiles; Men thinks it's a good expression.
--
He gradually begins to like spending time with Aiba. Aiba's nice to him, plays with him, and even though Men has no idea what he's saying when he talks, it's soothing. All nicely pitched and kind. He has fingers and this cloth that's nice to chew on. So when Aiba brings him back to the other small pandas, Men has no desire to play with these pandas that had never been nice to him like Aiba had. Aiba leaves for a second and Men is suddenly struck with he really doesn't want to be left alone.
Except Aiba comes back quickly, and there's bamboo around him and it looks and tastes so good. Aiba had given it to him. Men was given something by someone that he really liked.
So when the other pandas try to take his bamboo away from him, Men couldn't help but bat them away. Especially when Aiba's just staring at him, hopeful eyes and smiles, no matter how pensive he is. Men just wants to make Aiba smile more and more.
--
At first, Men had started out just wanting to follow Aiba. He's moving farther up, and if Men didn't follow, he'd lose him. And Men couldn't have that. So he followed. His arms ached and he felt shaky and nervous, but Men kept moving. He stopped a couple of times, and while the other pandas would've made fun of him, Aiba only encouraged him to keep on going.
Men kept reaching for the top, pushing up with his feet. Trying to get to that place that Aiba had been pointing at from the very beginning. Men didn't know how he'd finally reached it - how he'd managed to climb from all the way down there. Aiba's voice rang in his head - he didn't know what he was saying, not really, but he hoped that Aiba was telling him that he could do it. Even if he was a weak panda, Men could manage.
When he did, it was Aiba's smiling face that met him at the top.
--
After that, Men didn't see Aiba again. But Men was okay with that, because he could still remember the look on Aiba's face when he'd reached the top.
Maybe even someone like him could become Kung Fu Panda material.

.asdk;fjalksdjf IDEK. Ignore me. My writing's been kinda questionable lately. ~_~;;
Also reccing BNS's subbing of SMAP on Utaban. Absolutely hysterical. I love that Shingo had such a hard time remembering the birthdays. I don't think he knows at all.
v. Fic Rec! - Counting Down by peroxidepest87. Like you guys need me to explain why this is brilliant. If you haven't read any bit of the Government Agents AU that Pero has made, you are seriously missing out. It has to be one of the most amazing AUs that I've read. I love every little bit of it. And this is another amazing installation. aa;lskdfjalskdj Pero is just hella talented, enough said. - Clay Hearts by grunhilda. Nikki has been reccing this up a storm, and not without reason. It's such an odd pairing - Yamapi/Ueda - but it was amazingly executed. Seriously, beautifully written and totally worth the read. Guys, go read. Go read. ♥♥♥ It was just lovely, breath-taking, and just a;lskdjfalksjdfskaj God. Yes.
P.S. If you guys haven't seen 33-pun Tantei, you should. Crackiest thing ever. I swear. Download it here!!! Guess who timed it. :DDD P.P.S. I have started reading skimming through Twilight. I just. I don't even know. I hate Vampire stories to begin with and still I started it. Both my best friends have read it and while one is entirely crazy and says that she loves all four books, at least the other one was like, only the first was good. My opinion? I want to shoot the heroine in the face. Seriously. I have lots of hatred for her. P.P.P.S. Thanks to my brother playing it, I have started playing Tales of Symphonia again.a s;dlkfjaslkdjrkalsjdf Fuck, I really did love this RPG. P.P.P.P.S. (God, I'm cheating.) I have caught up on all of Psych!!! And am now watching it. :DDD (And now have an icon of the not-kiss. God, I didn't think anything could piss me off as much as Kurosagi's not-hug.) |
