I am dearly saddened by the loss of Michael Jackson. Having died due to cardiac arrest, which, in my opinion, is not doubt the result of prescription pills or something to that effect, he is lost forever, though not his legacy. He changed much about culture in the height of his career... all muddled down to all sorts of scandals about his sexual stance on children in the final decade before his death.

I, for one, always tried to ignore those stories about him and his Neverland Ranch. I know that he started to do weird things to himself cosmetically and his appearance suffered as a result. People made fun of his nose and that strange germ mask he always wore. But this pales in comparison to the cruelty, in my opinion, he suffered in the hands of the media who did not know when to shut up about his legal woes over the accusations of him molesting children.. some of them even famous.

His death is one of those rare events that happen that is so monumental it begs the question: "Where were you when it happened?" For me, I was cutting out pictures I printed out from my Yellowstone trip to put in an album and my phone suddenly buzzes with the news I got a text message. I read it and it is my sister exclaiming that he died and that she nearly cried upon hearing this news. So, that is how I learned of his passing.
But what the media did to Jackson in the end was very unforgiveable. Child molestation charges are nothing at all to take lightly or even joke about. They spoke about it nonstop, ad nauseum, and I was just SICK of it. The phrase "child molestation" should never have been repeated as often as it was on common news networks. I never did care to say much about Jackson, even during all my celeb talk in teh past because I just did not think it was funny.. everything he was going through. That is not to say I didn't have my "what the fuck?" moments in regard to him. That one time he hung the baby out the window for a few seconds so the press could see it? Yeah, that annoyed me quite a bit, but I just never actually made fun of him. Not even to people around me. Some called him a "Freakish white woman-wannabe" and stuff like that. Eh. Yeah, but who isn't a freak anymore? Doesn't mean I'm not glad he existed. :) Good music, btw. I actually have a few of his albums!
