I had gotten my list down to about 150 right before Pennsic. But of course now I have all sorts of new ideas for next Pennsic. So the total has gone back up.

As always, I don't expect many (if any) people to read all of this. But if you only read one section, please make it the Undecided Projects section. I still have no idea what to do with those things, and would love to hear any suggestions you might have.

Current Projects
These are all things that I've been working on lately, and want to finish up before I move onto other things, or projects which have approaching deadlines.

  • Halloween Costumes -Earlier this year I thought I had an idea for one costume, but now I'm not so sure I like it. I've since come up with another idea. But again, I'm not sure I like it. So I need to do some more brainstorming, particularly now that I've learned that one of the parties I'll be headed to has a Sci-Fi theme. Then of course, once I do decide what I want, there's still the gathering of materials and construction of the costumes, which I should really get started by late September at the latest.
  • Yooka Stola -I completely lost track of the days at Pennsic, and never got around to attaching the shoulder bands before the party. While I won't be wearing the outfit again until next year, it's only a half hour or so of work. So I want to get it done just so I can scratch it off my list
  • Turquoise Field Stola -I had originally thought this fabric would make a chiton. But it turned out too be too short for that, so I decided to try making a field stola, to see how that works. But of course, I spaced on finishing it at Pennsic. Again, I probably won't wear it until next summer. But it's only a half hour or so of work. So I want to get it done just so I can scratch it off my list
  • Laurel Cloak -The hem has been frayed and in need of mending for years now, and I've never gotten around to it. With winter approaching, I'll be wearing this more often. So I want to just get my act together and finally take care of this.
  • Tree Skirt for Wendy -This was last year's Christmas present to my sister, which didn't get finished in time. Earlier this summer I made major progress on it. So now I just need to bind the edges and add some jingle bell embellishments.
  • Chiton for Mom -While visiting my parents over Independence Day weekend, my mom and I got to talking about the cut/style of chitons, and she decided she'd like to try one to see how she likes it. So we rooted through her fabric collection and found something she liked. I now just need to whip it together for her.
  • VDK Website -Highest on the priority list of sub-tasks within this task is that I need to work with Sigurthr to get the site moved to the new domain, with individual passwords enabled. After that I need to continue to research and update the database, and collect missing data. I'm hoping (and really hoping that my hope isn't delusional) that I'll be able to get the new version of the site ready as a Twelfthnight present to the Haus.

Pennsic Projects
Although it's almost a year until next Pennsic, I'm putting this grouping high on my list to help me keep these projects in mind. If I can remember to work on them throughout the year, maybe next year I won't find myself in such a crunch.
  • Pennsic Camp Data and Layout -I need to work with Sigurthr to make sure the new online Camp Data Survey Form is ready to go. Then there will be the collecting/collating of data, preparation of camp layout, calculation of coordinates, and other assorted/associated tasks. b> - It's almost time to start sending out the camp data survey and begin collecting everyone's data. When I do, I'm going to once again attempt to contact the Pennsic Cartographer to get a good copy of the map for our block. Once all the data is in hand, I'll need to create the preliminary camp layout.
  • Pennsic Dayboard -The dayboards didn't happen last year, and I was really sad to see them go. I'm hoping that maybe we'll be able to revive the tradition, but it will depend on how others feel about it. If we do revive the tradition I'll need to choose a theme and plan the menu, shopping list, and task timeline.
  • Pennsic Class Prep -I need to decide which classes I want to teach, register to teach them, and create/gather whatever handouts and samples I might need. Note to self: I’m thinking I want to teach my Pre-Costuming series again, perhaps expanding it to include the next chapter. But if I do so, that will max out my class limit, and I'd also want to still teach my usual Newcomers classes. So I need to figure that out.
  • 21st Pennsic Plans -As next Pennsic will be my 21st, it seems obvious that I have to have some sort of party involving booze and "being legal". Not sure what that will be yet, but I suspect it will involve a hefty booze fund. So in addition to planning whatever party this will be, I also need to get started budgeting for it.
  • Porta-Potty Sign -This past year it became clear that none of our neighbors know a key piece of porta-potty etiquette... If you put the seat lid down when you're done, the fumes vent out the chimney, and not into the interior. So I'm seriously considering making a sign to post at the nearest bank of porta-potties, spelling this out for them.
  • New Cooler -Having repaired my old cooler for last year, I now wish I hadn't and had just bought a new one when the Coleman store was going out of business. That's because my cooler is ancient, and I've come to realize that newer ones do a much better job. So I want to find a 5-day cooler of the right size to use next year.
  • Kitchen Clock -I can't count the number of times this past year that I or someone else in the kitchen/dining hall area asked, "Does anyone know what time it is?", often with nobody in the immediate vicinity having the answer. So I want to get a large wall clock and figure out a way to hang it from my kitchen tent so that it will be easily visible from outside of the tent as well as inside.
  • Levelling Tool -Usually when I need to level a table I just hammer the ground underneath the legs to compact the dirt. But this past year I realized that's not enough in our highly sloped new campsite, as you can only compact dirt so far, and it wasn't enough. So I need to create some sort of tool that will be like a miniature post-hole digger to use to excavate the soil to whatever depth is needed.
  • Yooka Mug -The Yooka party this past year was great. But I know some people thought the batches of Yooka came out too sweet. This was because when [info]swanduchess told the mixers to put in a "cup" of sugar, they didn't realize she meant a measuring cup's worth of sugar. So they used a whole scoop of the mug that was on hand, which was more like two cups. To keep this from happening again, I want to see if I can find a cup/mug that's closer to the correct size. Though of course it has to be Yooka colored.
  • Water-Resistant Bedspread -I love my new tent. But it does have the largest mesh roof I've ever had. So when the rain goes sideways and up under the fly, I'm getting a lot more water inside the tent than I'm used to. In the past I've used my down sleeping bag as a top-layer comforter on my camp bed, as the tight weave necessary to contain the down has always functioned well to keep stray drops of water off my bedding. But this past year it became clear it wasn't up to the task, with the increased amount of water getting through. I made do with a piece of plastic that I threw over my bed on rainy days. But it's ugly, and it wasn't pleasant the night I had to sleep under it. So I want to come up with some sort of water-resistant bedspread made out of a nicer material.
  • Better Lanterns -This past year my new roll-top table worked great with my mirror box to function as a dressing table Except, that is, for the fact that I didn't have adequate lighting. The lanterns I have are bulky and don't produce much light. I know there are other models out there that work better. So I want to get a matched pair that I can place on either side of the mirror box to adequately light my face for when I'm doing my hair or makeup.
  • Levelling Blocks for Camp Bed -Having put all the effort into making my camp bed support for this past year, I completely forgot to make sure I had levelling blocks on hand to put under it. I had shims, which are perfect for fussy tweaking. But considering I had to bring the foot of the support up about 6 to 8 inches, shims weren't enough. After a day or two of scrounging I was able to find some scrap wood. But for next year I want to make sure I'm prepared to get the support working properly the first night. Also, as the scrap wood blocks I used were so narrow and stacked so high, they did become a bit of a tip hazard. So for next year I want to get some graduated blocks that will work better.
  • Roman Field Garb -I made a few outfits last year that while originally conceived of as chitons, turned out to work really nicely as "Cheater Roman" field garb. So I'd like to make more of the same, and phase out some of my plaid chitons which really aren't me.
  • Cold/Wet Weather Garb -Somehow I've managed for years to never get around to making myself any good garb for cold/wet weather. While last Pennsic actually had some of the best weather in years, there were several days of rain, and this gap in my wardrobe began to really annoy me. So I want to figure out a solution.
  • Green Parasol -I have a paper Chinese style parasol with green accents that I use. I want to guss it up a bit by decorating the edge with a repeating olive branch motif.
  • Red Parasol -I want to find a red parasol (and perhaps decorate/personalize it as well) for when I'm wearing an outfit with which my green parasol would clash.
  • Green Pouch -I was very pleased with how my new red pouch came out. So now I want a green one for when I'm wearing an outfit with which my red one would clash.
  • Green Water Bottle Cover -I was very pleased with how my new red water bottle cover came out. So now I want a green one for when I'm wearing an outfit with which my red one would clash.
  • Gauze Turban Veil -I have this cut out, and just need to hem it.
  • Muslin Turban Veils -I have two of these cut out, and I've begun to hem one. But I don't want an obvious machine hem to show, so I'm doing them by hand.

Promised Projects
These are things I've promised to other people, or which I've promised myself are for other people.
  • Garb/Persona Planning with [info]revolos55 -Throughout Pennsic this year, [info]revolos55 and I talked a lot about how she wants to change her persona, but how what it winds up being is dependent on her finding a style of garb she likes. So I promised I would work with her to look at costume timelines and such to find a style, and then come up with patterns tailored/altered to fit her.
  • Parrot Cross Stitch -This is an unfinished project I inherited from my Grandmother. It's actually almost done, as only the eyes of the parrots still need to be filled in. While visiting my parents over Independence Day weekend we conferred about what should be done with it. The verdict is that I'll do a bit of research/experimentation to see how best to finish the eyes. Then I'll mount the piece in a fabric frame and give it back to mom and dad so they can hang it in their house, where it will go.
  • Quilt for Mom -Ages ago I gave my Mom the birthday present of a promise to make her a quilt. Although we spent some time designing it, I never got around to finding the right materials or making it. By now, she may very well want something different anyway. So I should check with her to see what she wants and start over. (Note: After first posting this to do list, she told me to put this project on hold until she decides what she wants.)
  • Birdhouse for Mom -Not quite so many years ago my ex and I gave my mom the birthday or Christmas present of a promise to make her a birdhouse. I need to check with her to see what she'd like, and follow through with this somehow.
  • Camera Case for Mom -I need to check with her to see what she wants, and then make it. (Note: After first posting this to do list, she told me to put this project on hold as she might be getting a new camera.)
  • Mom and Dad's Knit Blanket -This has a few small holes in it. I need to find wool yarn to match and then darn the holes.
  • Teddy Bear Wallhanging for Dad -Ages ago I gave my Dad the birthday present of a promise to make him a bear wallhanging. I recall that he said he's like it to be a teddy bear wallhanging. But I never finished designing it, and obviously never started making it. I need to consult with him about what he wants, then design and make it.
  • Spiral Outfit for Wendy -Years ago I gave my sister the birthday or Christmas present of a promise to make her an outfit out of a spiral print fabric I picked up on a family trip in Curacao. But I never got my act together to make it. I need to check with her to see what she currently wants, and make the outfit.
  • Camera Case for Wendy -I need to check with her to see what she wants, and then make it.
  • Secret Project 1 -This is a sewing project for a family member, which I'm not going to describe further as it will be given as a gift and I don't want to spoil the surprise.
  • Secret Project 2 -This is another sewing project for a family member.
  • Secret Project 3 -This is another sewing project for a family member.
  • Secret Project 5 -This is another craft project for a family member.
  • Secret Project 6 -This is a sewing project for a friend
  • Fiona's Garnet Necklace -Years ago my friend Fiona gave me a broken garnet necklace of hers, asking if I could fix it. It unfortunately disappeared into my bead collection, only to resurface recently. So I need to finally figure out how to fix it and do so.
  • Dalmatic for Artorius -A couple years ago I made some dalmatics for Artorius, with fabric he provided. I got this one halfway finished when I discovered that the wool had pinholes in it in several places. While it now won't be the spiffiest tunic, it can still be made to be serviceable. So I need to darn the holes and then finish making the tunic.
  • Pikestaff Exchequer Manual -I need to write a procedures manual for how to do this job, so that if my Emergency Deputy ever has to take over for me she'll have it to refer to.
  • Arts Meme Item for [info]anastasia1 -Back in 2006 I had a moment of amnesia, forgot about my huge backlog of projects, and posted an "Arts Meme" to my LJ. In this I offered to make something for the first five people to reply. For those people that replied, at the time I figured out what I wanted to make each of them. I just haven't found the time to actually make the items. But I do eventually intend to make good on my offers. In fact, part of me is really eager to work on these projects, as I'm very pleased with the ideas I came up with. Hopefully sometime soon.
  • Arts Meme Item for [info]revolos55 -Same as above.
  • Arts Meme Item for [info]varianor -Same as above.
  • Arts Meme Item for [info]janetweiss69 -Same as above.
  • Arts Meme Item for [info]jdub0014 -Same as above.

SCA Projects
Some other SCA stuff that I'd like to get done eventually, but which isn't necessary for Pennsic.
  • Persona Development -For years I've coasted along with only the barest minimum of a persona. A few times I've made efforts to correct this, but I've always managed to hit roadblocks. But I've reached a point where I want to try again. So to start I need to see about getting the translation of the history of Opio completed, and also look for a book about King Rene.
  • Personal Tokens -My original idea for my 20th Pennsic Favor Project was to make medallion-style tokens. But creating them became problematic, so I made favors instead. But I do still really like the idea of the tokens, and want to figure out how I can make them for future use.
  • Leather Belt -For years I've been looking for a belt buckle wide enough to accommodate the cotton webbing I use as a form for my fabric-covered belts, but I haven't had any luck. This past Pennsic, the solution suddenly hit me like a ton of bricks... Just get a buckle I like and make a leather belt I can wear with all outfits. I don't need to have matching belts for all my outfits. If I make a black one and decorate it nicely enough, it will go with anything I wear. Thinking about it more, I'll actually need a couple different belts, as different styles of garb call for radically different widths of belt. But the idea is still sound. So I need to do some more research/thinking to determine how many different styles/widths of belt I need, then shop around for buckles.
  • Red and Green Houppelande -I made this dress years ago but never really finished it. I need to attach the lining at the shoulders and also hem it.
  • Long Green Belt -When I made my red and green houppelande, I never made a proper belt. (I ran short of fabric, and hacked together a short belt to make do.) But I have the fabric now, so I need to make a long belt to match.
  • Russian Overdress -While I finished this dress (which I made for [info]lucanusdux and [info]swanduchess' last reign) enough to wear it, I never properly finished the seams. Then the armpit also tore. So I need to mend that tear and finish the seams.
  • Russian Underdress -I ran short on time and never did make the underdress for the above overdress. (I just wore a simple white undertunic instead.) But I have all the fabric and trim, and want to get it finished.
  • Russian Hat -I made the hat for the above outfit, but I didn't get the proportions right. So I want to remake it taller, and embellish it more.
  • Ozherlya -I botched the closure on this, and never properly attached the lining. So I want to rework the closure, embellish it more, and then finish it properly.
  • Red Kirtle -Ages ago I started to make a cotehardie out of some linen I had, and I cut most of the pieces for the lining out of some red cotton. But then I didn't finish that project, and wound up re-tasking the linen for a different project. So at this point I might as well just turn the lining pieces into a kirtle.
  • Red and Blue Houppelande and Belt -I have this all cut out and just need to sew it together. I may or may not decide that it's on the list of new garb for this Pennsic, but it's a strong option.
  • Purple and Black Houppelande and Belt -I have this all cut out and just need to sew it together. I may or may not decide that it's on the list of new garb for this Pennsic, but it's a strong option.
  • Field Surcoat with Scrolly Red Skirt -I have all the materials for this, and have started making it. (I painted the ermine spots on the plastron piece, but I think it needs another coat.) I may or may not decide that it's on the list of new garb for this Pennsic, but it's a strong option.
  • Black Kirtle -This is the underdress to go with the above surcoat. So if that gets made, so will this.
  • Field Surcoat with Geometric Blue Skirt -I have all the materials for this, and have started making it. (I painted the ermine spots on the plastron piece, but I think it needs another coat.) I may or may not decide that it's on the list of new garb for this Pennsic, but it's a strong option.
  • Lavender Kirtle -This is the underdress to go with the above surcoat. So if that gets made, so will this.
  • Field Surcoat with Scrolly Blue Skirt -I have all the materials for this, and have started making it. (I painted the ermine spots on the plastron piece, but I think it needs another coat.) I may or may not decide that it's on the list of new garb for this Pennsic, but it's a strong option.
  • Slate Kirtle -This is the underdress to go with the above surcoat. So if that gets made, so will this.
  • Turquoise Kirtle -I made this dress back before I had my serger. As it's linen, over time the seam allowances frayed a lot, to the point that it started to fall apart and became unwearable. I want to use it to fit a more tightly fitted cotehardie/kirtle pattern.
  • Green Wool Cotehardie -I have a gorgeous piece of green wool flannel that wants to be made into a cold weather dress, lined in royal blue cotton (that I also have on hand).
  • Laurel Baldric -This broke and a few loops fell off. I need to mend it, replacing the missing beads (of which thankfully I have plenty on hand, left over from when I made it.)
  • Black Beaded Coronet -This is a project that's been in progress for years. I need to get off my ass and actually work on it.
  • Truncated Henin Forehead Loop -When I made my collapsible field truncated henin form, I never did figure out how to make a removable/re-attachable forehead loop (so I don't have to attach a separate one to each cover.) I need to figure this out, and as necessary modify the two covers I've made for the form. Alternately, I could just bite the bullet, make separate ones, and attach those to the covers.
  • Cotton Half Round Veil -The one I have is old and dingy. I want to make a new one.
  • Cotton Oval Veil -While not as dingy as my half round veil, this one is also getting old. So again, I want to make a new one.
  • Silk Organza Veil -I have this cut to size for a henin veil, and I'm sick of the nasty piece of polyester chiffon I've been using for a henin veil. So I just need to hem it so I can use it.
  • Silk Half Round Veil -I have a piece of silk for this. I just need to cut the shape and hem it.
  • Silk Oval Veil -I have a piece of silk for this. I just need to cut the shape and hem it.
  • Jana II Favor -This was a silkscreened favor, and the ink never took very well to the fabric. I want to emphasize the design by covering it with simple outline embroidery.
  • SCA Umbrella -I have a compact folding umbrella from which I removed the cover. I need to make a new cover for it that while still obviously modern, will feel a bit more medievaloid for SCA use. I might just make one in my colors. But if I can figure out how to do it and make it waterproof, I'd like to have it decorated with my arms.
  • Bubble Gauze Veils -[info]anne_lj and her daughters wear a lot of simple veils made from bubble gauze, hemmed using a decorative sewing machine stitch. I decided I wanted some like this, for when I just want to dunk something in water to throw on my head, or quickly cover something up. So I picked up a few yards of bubble gauze. Now I just need to cut the veils and hem them.
  • Yooka Tote -I want to make a totebag to hold my Yucca jar and the other tools/items needed to make Yucca. I might even design the totebag to seal tightly around the jar so as to replace the towel wrapping part of the process.
  • Manche Rosary -I've been collecting the beads for this project for years, and now actually finally have enough of them. I've also got the documentation mostly all figured out, in my head at least. So I need to write up the documentation to make sure I haven't missed anything. Then I need to learn the techniques to carve and gild the medallion so I can make it.
  • Banner -I've been meaning/wanting to make a banner for myself for years, but have never gotten around to it. Having accepted/decided that a painted one is fine, it really shouldn't take me long to make. I just need to get around to it.
  • Glastonbury Chair -I don't know when I'll ever be able to get this done. Particularly as I don't have woodworking skills, so I'll need help. But I really do eventually want to get myself one of these. Hey, if you're reading this and you do woodworking... Do you need any sewing done? Maybe we could work out a barter.

Edgy Projects
Going from gothic to goth, here are some of my projects reflecting that side of my personality.
  • Monster Boots -The sole on one of the boots has come loose. I need to glue it back in place.
  • Punky Jacket -It has a couple of tiny holes and worn spots that need to be mended.
  • Chained Pleat Skirt -I finally found the black and red twill. I need to draft the pattern and make the skirt.
  • Zipper Skirt -I have a bunch of black, grey, and red zippers I got in a bargain bin. I want to sew a bunch of them together to make a clubbing skirt that's all zippers. But it will take a bunch of fitting and resewing to get the shape right.
  • Green Snakeskin Whatever -I have a pair of green snakeskin pvc pants I found in a secondhand shop. I want to alter them into a skirt or dress or something.
  • Spiderweb Umbrella -I have a plain black umbrella to which I want to attach some white cording to make a spiderweb design.
  • Funky Umbrellas -I have five umbrella frames (they came as just frames, with a pattern to make your own covers). I want to use them to make a bunch of fun punky/goth/creepy umbrellas.
  • Spiderweb Raincoat -I have a piece of clear plastic covered with a black spiderweb design that I want to turn into a raincoat.
  • Spiderweb Tote Bag -I have a fun spiderweb print, a zipper, and some black cotton duck on hand. I just need to turn it all into a tote bag.
  • Suede Skirt -I got this at dollar a pound at the Garment District. It's a smidge too small for me. I want to split open the side seams and insert some panels of contrasting fabric to make it fit.
  • Studded Headband -This was my favorite headband, which fell apart when it got left in the sun and the glue melted. I want to see if I can put it back together.
  • New Batch of Button Pins -I've lost a couple of buttons I made last time (they've fallen off my coat) and I have some new ideas. So I want to make a new batch soon.
  • Stripey Skull Tights -I need to chop these off and hem them to turn them into hose.
  • Spiderweb Tights -I need to chop these off and hem them to turn them into hose.
  • Flamey Skull Tights -I need to chop these off and hem them to turn them into hose.
  • Flame Tights -I need to chop these off and hem them to turn them into hose.
  • Silver and Gold Swapped Hose -I already chopped these off to turn them into hose. But they need to be hemmed or they're going to run.

Christmas Projects
And then there's the Martha Stewart side of me.
  • Santa Hat -I have an oversized Santa hat (sized to wear if I've got my hair in pigtails). But I want to make a normal sized one as well.
  • Green Santa Hat -I also want to make one with green velveteen, and an oversized jingle bell in place of the pom-pom.
  • Blue Santa Hat -I also want to make one with blue velveteen, and a silver tassel in place of the pom-pom.
  • Curly Fur Santa Hat -I also want to make one with some crazy curly fur that I found.
  • Goth Santa Hat -I also want to make one with black crazy curly fur.
  • Christmas Dress -I have a wintergreen print fabric I want to use to make a Christmas dress. The plan is that the dress with have a big red collar finished off with a big red bow.
  • Christmas Quilt -Ages ago I designed and started making an insanely work intensive Christmas quilt, of 12 different blocks (many of them broderie perse applique). I have about 4 of the blocks done, and one in progress. I need to slowly work on completing the block in progress and remaining blocks, and maybe some day get the quilt finished.
  • Simple Christmas Quilt -Back when I worked for House of Fabrics, I made up some quilt blocks as part of their promotional display program (if you made the stuff, after they were done displaying it you got to keep it). Some jackass stole one of the panels, so I never finished the set. But I have six of the blocks completed, which is enough to make a small throw sized quilt. I just need to join the blocks together and back them.
  • Norman Rockwell Potholders -I have four small Normal Rockwell Christmas print fabric panels that I want to make into two potholders.
  • Fabric Tags -I have a stack of scraps of Christmas and other fabrics that have been fused to white fabric backing. They now just need to be cut out into gift tags.
  • Christmas Village -Ages ago I bought a set of 6 unfinished plaster buildings that make a Christmas village display. Someday I'll get around to painting and sealing them.
  • Tagma Christmas Ornament -I want to turn one of my Tagma patches into a Christmas ornament.
  • Assisi Christmas Ornament -Back when I was a kid I used to play with all sorts of sewing/crafts techniques. Left over from that time I have two samples of Assisi style cross-stitch that I want to turn into an ornament.
  • Wreath Christmas Ornament -Years ago I got a "Christmas Card" from my cousin Jeff and his Wife Lisa that was a cross-stitched wreath in a little paper frame. I want to turn it into an ornament.
  • Wire Tree Christmas Ornament -I found an ornament black of some wire screening in the shape of a Christmas tree. I want to cover it with beads.
  • Lightbulb Ornament Garland -I found some miniature glass bulb ornaments shaped like Christmas light bulbs. I want to attach them all to some sort of green cord to make them into a garland that looks like a string of lights.
  • Candy Cane Christmas Ornaments -I have the supplies to make a bunch of these (beads threaded on multiple pieces of wire and bent into the shape of a candy cane). I just need to decide which color combinations I want and make them.
  • Snowflake Christmas Ornaments -I have the supplies to make a bunch of these (wire spokes soldiered into an asterisk shape, then threaded with clear beads of varying sizes and shapes to form snowflake designs). I just need to decide which bead combinations I want and make them.
  • Bead Netting Christmas Ornaments -I saw some ornaments once that were bead netting stretched over clear glass bulbs. I want to make some like that.
  • Miniature Beaded Christmas Ornaments -I have some miniature glass bulb ornaments in various colors that I want to guss up by adding beaded fringes, etc.

Projects for my Apartment
Here we have various projects that will help me get my apartment into better shape.
  • Ornament Box Divider -I need to make a new one to hold an oversized ornament I was given last year.
  • Ornament Sachets -I have some ornaments of birds that have real feather tails. But bugs got into the tails and damaged them some. I want to make lavender sachets sized to fit in the ornament dividers that hold those ornaments to keep bugs away in the future.
  • Dresser Drawer Dividers -I need to make some dividers for my new wall-o-dresser to help organize some of my smaller items.
  • Bedroom Set -I want to make myself a matching duvet cover and bed skirt (and maybe also some curtains) for my bedroom. But I haven't found the right fabric yet. (I want a large scale plaid, stripe, or some bold geometric design in multiple jewel tones.)
  • Re-Upholster Couch -I have the foam, fabric, and most of the pillow forms I need for this project. I just need to do it.
  • Medieval Pillows -I have some printed panels of reproductions of medieval illuminations that I want to turn into throw pillows.
  • Bedroom Chair -I need to figure out the best way to re-upholster this, and then do it.

Mending and Craft Projects
These are all such small tasks that part of me says I should do them first, because then I'll be able to scratch a bunch of items off my list quickly. But then, a lot of them aren't terribly high priority.
  • Jeans -I need to fix the hole in the seat of these.
  • Purple Pants -I just need to close a small gap in one of the seams.
  • Green Striped Work Shirt -I need to finish reattaching a portion of the collar that pulled loose.
  • Purple Linen Work Shirt -The ends of the sleeves on this shirt are worn out. But the rest of the shirt is still perfectly wearable. So I want to just hem the sleeves shorter.
  • Red Silk Wrap-Front Blouse -I need to reposition the snap on the front of the blouse so that the overlap doesn't gap.
  • Scarf Blouses -These are torn and worn in places, and need to be mended.
  • Wool Coat -This has lost several buttons. I bought a complete new set, and just need to replace them.
  • Black Barrel Bag -One of the seams blew out, and I just need to serge it up.
  • Miniature Army -I need to finish painting these and seal them.
  • Grey Linen Square -I need to hammer this to create a sample of beetling for my understanding fabrics class, then serge the raw edges.

Sewing Projects
This list was a lot larger, until I reviewed my fabric collection and decided multiple times that no, I don't need a shirt/dress out of that fabric after all.
  • Blue Crystalline Print Work Shirt -I have this all cut out and just need to sew it together.
  • Turquoise Coral Print Work Shirt -I have this all cut out and just need to sew it together.
  • Blue Triangles Print Work Shirt -I have this all cut out and just need to sew it together.
  • Teal Feather Print Work Shirt -I have this all cut out and just need to sew it together.
  • Blue Squiggles Fabric -I want to make a funky style shirt out of this.
  • Morning Glories Fabric -I want to make a sundress out of this.
  • Primitive Marine Life Fabric -I want to make a sundress out of this.
  • Leaf Batik Fabric -I want to make a sundress out of this.
  • Butterfly Batik Fabric -I want to make a sundress out of this.
  • Worn Silk Blouses -I have a bunch of silk blouses that wore out to the point of not being wearable. But large areas of the fabric of the blouses are fine. I want to make them into a Victorian style crazy quilt, perhaps embellished with silk ribbon embroidery.

Jewelry Projects
More stuff that is mostly pretty simple projects, but again not terribly high priority.
  • Pale Teal Necklace -I need to restring this with the three strands braided instead of twisted, so they'll lie flat.
  • Chinese Bead Necklace and Earrings -I have an assortment of blue and white beads and blue silk cord that I want to make into a necklace that also incorporates Chinese knots, and some matching earrings. I just need to figure out the arrangement and make them.
  • Southwestern Necklace and Earrings -I have a bunch of seed beads and juniper seeds I bought on a trip to Utah. I need to drill the juniper seeds to turn them into beads and then I plan to combine them with the seed beads to make a matching necklace and earring set.
  • Amethyst Necklace and Earrings -I have an assortment of funky shapes of amethyst beads that I want to turn into a necklace and earring set. But I need to collect more beads for the project before I'll be ready to make it.
  • Ivy Leaf Necklace and Earrings -I have a bunch of pairs of tooled leather ivy earrings and some green beads that I want to turn into a necklace and earring set, using all but one of the pairs of earrings as beads for the necklace. But I need to collect more beads for the project before I'll be ready to make it.

Other Projects
Lastly, this stuff leans more towards tasks to accomplish, rather than items to create.
  • Inventory -I need to finish reviewing each room of my apartment, cleaning and reorganizing, and compiling/updating an inventory of my possessions as I go.
  • Computer Files and Folders -I'm almost done reviewing all my computer files and folders, and reorganizing them to make better sense. I still have few folders left to sort through. This includes a folder of old images files that I think might be SuperPaint (but I'm not sure). I need to either find a way to convert these files to current a graphics format (which is complicated by the fact that the files lost their extensions in my hard drive crash), or I just need to give up on them and chuck the whole folder.
  • Email -I need to review all my email folders to purge old messages, printing and/or saving text to files as necessary for stuff worth saving.
  • Virtual Yard Sale and FreeCycle -As I've been working on my cleaning/organizing/inventory sweep of my apartment I've found a lot more items I want to get rid of. I need to gather all of these into one place, take photos, and update my Virtual Yard Sale and FreeCycle pages to include them all. Then I need to post a link to the FreeCycle items to the FreeCycle list, and otherwise promote the Virtual Yard Sale.
  • Comic Book Collection -I want to sell off at least part of my collection. But to do so, I need to decide if I'm going to eat the loss of being ripped off by a dealer, or if I'm going to deal with the hassle of trying to sell everything myself.
  • Sewing Magazines -I have two boxes of sewing magazines that were a hand-me-down from a friend when she moved. I want to review the magazines for articles I want to save, extract those and put them in a binder, then recycle the remainders of the magazines.
  • Chemistry.com -I need to get my act together to find a photo of myself I can stand, then create a profile and actually use it.
  • My Website -I know at least one of the articles is woefully out of date and inaccurate. There are also other articles I've wanted to write for years but never have. Plus several articles could benefit greatly from having some diagrams added. I need to work on all of this.
  • Portfolio -I want to redesign the main page and the current items to follow templates and be automated. Then I need to work on adding a bunch of missing items.
  • Photo Albums -For my hardcopy photos, I need to sort through everything and get it all arranged by date/trip/etc. Ideally, this would include rooting through my parents photo collection to retrieve stuff from my childhood. For my digital photos, I need to finish importing everything into iPhoto, and then use it to tag everything.
  • LiveJournal Tags -I need to review my tags to condense/edit/purge them.
  • LiveJournal Backup -A while ago I tried one LJ backup service, and got a lead on another. I want to try the other, see if I can find any others and try them. Then I'll use my favorite to back up my LJ. (And also set a reminder to continue to back it up periodically.)
  • Journal -I have a bunch of entries from last year and earlier this year that are just jotted down notes/outlines, and not terribly coherent text. I want to go back and flush them out.
  • In Case of Emergency Instructions -Last year I started writing up a set of emergency instructions for my family, for what they should do if I'm hospitalized, dead, etc. I've got a good outline formed and certain areas are filled in nicely. But I need to finish all the sections and insert key data they might need.

Undecided Projects
These are all basically materials I have on hand, with which I want to do something, but I don't know what. If you have a suggestion, by all means, let me know.
  • Butterfly Cardboard -I have a piece of cardboard with butterfly fabric fused to it left over from a goof from a previous project. It's such pretty fabric that it seems a waste to just throw it away. But I haven't ever been able to figure out what to make out of it.
  • Tagma Patches -I bought four of these, and two are assigned to other projects. But that leaves two that I don't know what to do with.
  • Worn Linen Shirts -Years ago I bought a bunch of linen shirts for work. Over time, most of them have worn out to the point of not being wearable (and the remaining few that are still wearable won't last much longer). But large areas of the fabric of the shirts are fine, so I've saved them. But I haven't ever been able to figure out what I'd want to do with such a large collection of linen scraps.
  • Worn Cotton Shirts -Like the linen shirts, I have a bunch of cotton print shirts that are too worn in some areas to wear, while in other areas the fabric is fine. But again I can't figure out what to do with them.
