It has come to the one event that every schoolgoer in the world longs for, counts down the days to, anticipates in frantic glee: the six week holidays. We've been off for four weeks now, and in true Nina's-life style, I have done pretty much bugger all. Apart from the odd daytrip to Chesterfield or Manchester, and seeing my lovely friends, I've done pretty much nothing. I'm not complaining *yet* though - it's been very relaxing, and I have had chance to kick back, watch Jeremy Kyle and practise my knitting. Of course, this joyful era could not last for long, and in during the third week I contracted chicken pox, my reply to which, when I discovered I was ill, was "BOLLOCKS!". So I've spent the best part of a week and a half under house arrest, moaning about my spots (half of which have manifested themselves on my face) and gradually growing hateful of fellow six-weekers who have jetted off to somewhere sunny. I'm recovering now, though, and my mood is picking up along with my health, and yesterday I managed to go into town quite confidently, albeit hiding under sunglasses and my old black trilby. I went to Carsons to pick up some art supplies, as I have used up quite a lot of paint trying to channel my physical and emotional suffering into some sort of artwork, but with no great result as of yet. I'll let you know if I have an artistic epiphany. I've also spent my time watching films - some old favourites: Constantine, The Blues Brothers, The Cat Returns, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind (I'm a big Studio Ghibli fan) and I've discovered my new favourite film: Donnie Darko. I know it's been out for ages, but I watched it for the first time yesterday and was completely blown away! It's brilliant, and Frank the rabbit is bloody terrifying =D I sincerely recommend it to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. It's got all my favourite film aspects in it - insanity, time travel, giant rabbits, a *gorgeous* lead character, and lots of mystery and confusion right up until the end. Thankyou to Katenessnosity (her real name ;]) for pushing me over the 'should I watch it?' edge <3. Anyway, my dad's nagging me to go outside for a bit, as I haven't been out yet today (which is fair, in my opinion, considering I didn't get up until 2pm - god, I'm so lazy). I've got pretty much nothing planned for the next two weeks, but I'll let y'all know if anything major and of interest happens - don't get your hopes up.
