1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before? taken a winter session class (first and last time!), worked at an architect firm, folded a paper crane, went to Michigan (Indiana AND Ohio), met some (meaning most) of Steve’s extended family, turned in assignments late, and felt like I wouldn’t make it through finals
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I didn’t make any last year, though this year I want to be healthier, and hopefully lose a little weight, and save a lot more money
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? No, but someone got pregnant…
4. Did anyone close to you die? No, thank goodness. At least, not that I know of. I hope to keep it that way.
5. What countries did you visit? None. Plenty next year though!
6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007? More time with Steve!! I’d like to get more crafty stuff in, read more, and travel more (ok, I’ll do at least 1 of 3)
7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? January 2nd, I started work. Nothing really big happened on a specific date… Steve and I have been dating for a year, and then some. Michigan was the first week of July…?
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Making 1000 cranes!! And surviving, really.
9. What was your biggest failure? Not being able to juggle everything. There were a number of times where I just wanted to scream at ppl for not pulling their own weight, which really wasn’t fair (and I’m glad I didn’t scream) Though I think I’m better off letting some things go… if it needs to get done, it will in the long run, right?
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? A few colds, strained muscles at the end of the year (lower back, mostly on my right side…). Plenty of paper cuts, a few burns, and tired eyes.
11. What was the best thing you bought? Car insurance! I bought a couch and arm chair, along with slip covers too… though they’re not particularly special.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Andy and Steve, for putting up with me… my mom for the same reason!
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? The many celebrities who got knocked up… while I don’t condemn sex before marriage, for crying out loud, you can afford protection!! My old roommate, whose behavior got worse and worse until she moved out
14. Where did most of your money go? Rent, food, car insurance, tuition, art supplies
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Working, good grades, winter break finally arriving… going to Michigan, a real vacation
16. What song will always remind you of 2007? Misery business, by Paramore. My “misery” mix, and “kevy” mix.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you happier or sadder? Sadder. I think I’ve come to a lot of conclusions in Danville, and I’m ready to go back home and get on with my life, but I’m here for another week n a half. And I really miss Steve. Talking on aim isn’t the same as talking while in someone’s arms. Last year, at this time, neither of us were working and he was staying at my apartment. New Years, together… next year!
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Sleeping, relaxing (what’s that?), snuggling with Steve, talking things out (not brooding), baking
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Stressing, thinking about things that don’t need answers, dishes
20. How will you be spending Christmas? See, there was xmas at Sharon’s with Chris n Jeremy n Kim… xmas with Andy at the house… xmas at Kim’s with Lyndsey n Dave, xmas at Grandma’s with extended family, and xmas with mom and Eric. Lotsa fun and lotsa family, which is how I feel xmas should be.
21. Did you fall in love in 2007? I was already in love, and hope to remain so for a very very very long time
24. What was your favorite TV program? NCIS!!! I have all of season 4, part of season 1, and thanks to tivo, seen almost all of season 5 (I missed this week’s episodeL)
25. Do you know anyone now that you didn't this time last year? Lani, Taryn and Lauren, whom I hung out with last semester, and were in my rapid viz class this last semester… my fav professor, Dorothy… Heather, Rodel and Jessica I met last semester, and become close to this semester, and I met Krystal this semester. The 4 of us are going to Prague over the summer!!!
26. What was the best book you read? HARRY POTTER 7!!! As if you had to ask or something…
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Paramore! Thank you David, and LA invasion, and Andy, for getting me both their albums.
28. What did you want and get? A job, a decision as to which major I should go with, a long term job, money, a good roommate (I got a set!)
29. What did you want and not get? A life, more money, time to relax this last semester, time to travel to san diego
30. What was your favorite film of this year? I dunno. What came out this year? 300 was alright, I also saw eastern promises, which was wonderful because vigo was in it.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 20. I was with my mommy, and we met up with Andy and Steve, and tried to get into club 33, but couldn’t. I think I just went home instead, which was still fun. (Don’t worry, I went later, with just the boys)
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Being able to balance my longing for home (SF, family, memories of old friends) and the reality of not really liking it all that much here. Or have a little more free time to keep up with the rest of life this last semester. Either would have been great. I think I wanted the latter longer though…
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005? Flip flops, shirt, jeans. Variety of tshirts, tanks and tops.
34. What kept you sane? Talking to Mark on aim on a regular basis, and of course, Steve and Andy. Andy making dinner, cleaning, cooking, and making sure I ate all semester. Steve being the wonderfully supportive person he is; he truly makes me happy. He made a great alarm clock too… when he came home, it was time for bed.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? The ones that Steve points out when we watch tv or movies: Vigo (woo!), Mel Brooks, Alton Brown, Harrison ford, and Sean Connery
36. What political issue stirred you the most? I’ve been listening to talk radio since moving to LA, so whatever ended up on KFI AM640
37. Who did you miss? Grandpa!!! And Chinese food isn’t really a person, but I definitely miss it
38. Who was the best new person you met? I’m the most fond of Jessica. We’re going to be roommates, after all…
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007. it’s not a new lesson… it’s just one that I’ve come to know better: take what you can get, and leave the rest for someone else to take. I can’t do everything, and it really is kinda silly to try. Some things you have to let go of.
40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: The Middle, Jimmy Eat World:

Hey, don't write yourself off yet
It's only in your head you feel left out
Or looked down on
Just try your best, try everything you can
And don't you worry what they tell themselves
When you're away.

It just takes some time, little girl in the middle of the ride
Everything, everything will be just fine
Everything, everything it'll be alright (alright)

Hey, you know they're all the same
You know you're doing better on your own (on your own)
So don't buy in.
Live right now
Yeah, just be yourself.
It doesn't matter if it's good enough
For someone else
